You alone are the Lord.
You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars.
You made the earth and the seas and everything in them.
You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. ~Nehemiah 9:6

Christmas is over. I hope everyone had a good one. Of course we know that not everyone always has a wonderful Christmas. There are always circumstances in some lives that just don't make for a lot of happiness. This reminds me that there is a difference between happiness and joy. Even amid trials and bad circumstances, there can be plenty of joy. My wish and prayer for each of you is that 2014 brings much joy and a minimum of unhappiness.

I hope 2014 brings many new people to this site to share and be uplifted by what others share here. If you would like to share and need more info about it, just click on Linking Info under the header picture.

I knew it would happen some day. I just didn't know it would be today. If you have already come to this blog to link this morning and found the new post wasn't here, you know what I'm talking about. I always schedule the post each week on Thursday to go on Friday morning. Well, obviously I goofed this time. I totally forgot to do it yesterday. Blame the busyness of the season? Nope. I just blame myself. Anyway, here it is just a few hours later than usual. And I do apologize.

Maybe I just got caught up in the Duck Dynasty controversy was the reason I forgot to schedule a post. I know I was thinking about it a lot and a lot of other craziness that is going on in America relating to this season. Anyway, I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas and I know we won't forget the reason for the season even if there are voices all around trying to do just that.

ADVENT.  Does your church celebrate this tradition? For the last few years I've been associated with churches that did - kind of. I'm sure that in some churches such as Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist and others make more of it than our church does. Until recent years I really knew nothing about it. I grew up in a very fundamentalist church that didn't even make a big deal of Christmas, believing that we should celebrate Christ's death, burial and resurrection but not His birth. So, it was many years before I even heard about the Advent tradition. Now I think it is a good thing. Anything that brings us closer to Jesus is good.

Since I really didn't know a lot about Advent, I decided to look it up on the internet. Here is a link that explains it quite well.
If you are like me and don't know too much about it, but would like to know more, you might want to go there and check it out.

And now let the linking begin for a brand new week. Welcome back everyone. If you need information about who should link and how, just click on Linking Info under the header picture. Everyone is welcome.

Welcome Back

Welcome back everyone. Linking was down a little last week probably because everyone was so busy. We had relatives at our home from Saturday until Tuesday. I guess a lot of people were either traveling or entertaining company last weekend. Again, thank you for the nice comments you made to me. They are always appreciated.

As it is time to link again, be sure to click on Linking Info if you are new to Spiritual Sundays and if you need information about linking. Everyone is welcome.
