You alone are the Lord.
You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars.
You made the earth and the seas and everything in them.
You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. ~Nehemiah 9:6

Welcome Friends

Independence Day for America has come and gone. Next holiday here will be Labor Day which is about a month and a half away. Yes, time marches on and the summer, although it just started, will be gone and we'll be thinking Fall, and even Christmas. I hope everyone has been enjoying the summer. It has not been as hot here in the desert this year as most other years. I like that.

It's time to begin another week of linking. Thank you to all who participate. You're the best.

We had so few links last week and there will probably not be many more this week because of the big holiday weekend. So -  I decided to extend the linking time on this post. (July 6)

Yes it's true. The 4th of July is right around the corner. Hard to believe I know. I always say after the 4th of July it's almost Christmas. So, time to start making your Christmas lists. LOL

OK let's first be very patriotic and focus on Independence Day. The way the flag and other patriotic items are being frowned on by so many Americans really concerns me. We need to pray that God will continue to bless America and that we can remain the land of the free and the home of the brave.

So now, let's begin linking again. Thank you for participating.

Welcome Back

Do you remember the old sitcom called Welcome Back Kotter? It's funny. Every time I type Welcome Back in the title area "Welcome Back Kotter" comes to my mind. That's the trivia for today. LOL

Seriously though, I do welcome each and every one of you back here today. Thank you for visiting and hopefully it will be a blessing to you and to others. I hope everybody is having a good summer. I can't believe how fast it is passing by. Christmas can't be far behind.

I don't believe there are too many men who share with us here but there have been a few through the years. My own hubby shared here for several years. So, I want to wish all the dads out there a Happy
Father's Day.

When I think of fathers, it almost always leads me to think of the best father in the universe. Of course I loved my own father, and my hubby has been a wonderful father to our two children, but the best father in the world or in the universe, of course is our HEAVENLY FATHER. No, he doesn't need a special day called Father's Day. Every day should be Father's Day for God. I, for one, am so happy that I can call him "Father".

So now, if you have time after spending time honoring the men in your life, I hope you will share with us here.

Creation Calls

When I first saw this video several years ago, I watched it over and over again because I thought it was so beautiful and inspiring. Someone shared it on Facebook today and I watched it again for the first time in a long time. Then it occurred to me I should share it with you here on Spiritual Sundays. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Now, it is time to link again. Thank you again for supporting this ministry. I do consider it a ministry. I'm so glad I've been able to provide a place for all of you to meet each week, get acquainted, and share.

Happy Summer

Yes, I know technically summer has not yet arrived but how did June get here so quickly? I'm still amazed. Seems like we were just putting away the Christmas decorations. Well now school is out and people will be going on vacation. People always ask me if we are going anywhere this summer. We think about it but not very long. When you are in your 80s you kind of like to be at home or at least not far from home. I would love to go to many places if I was younger and didn't have a knee problem, but under the circumstances, I like to pretty much stay at home except for maybe a day trip now and then and, of course, eating out which we do fairly regularly. And then there are trips to the grocery store or Trader Joe's. What a life. LOL

So let's begin the linking. Linking has been down some lately. I think everybody is pretty busy actually all of the time now. Thank you to those who are faithful to share on a regular basis and thank you to those who share now and then.

Feeling Patriotic this morning as I ponder the meaning of Memorial Day. I'm overwhelmed thinking of all the men (and women) who have died defending our wonderful country. I am dismayed when I think of those who now seek to destroy her. My prayer is that God will always bless America but I fear that as we get further and further away from God and His principles that he may withdraw his blessings. He certainly did that to Israel in the long ago. Some people think I'm too political but I have a hard time not responding when I see American flags removed from so many places because it offends some people or when I hear that the photos of George Washington are being removed from schools because it makes some students "uneasy".

I believe I mentioned before that another reason Memorial Day is special to me is that I was baptized on Memorial Day in 1948. That is also the year that Israel became a nation again. That was back before so many of the holidays, including Memorial Day was switched to a Monday. In 1948 Memorial Day fell on a Sunday.

So now, let's begin the linking. I know many will be busy celebrating with family and friends and may not have as much time to spend here as they usually do. I understand.

Every time I hear this song it reminds me of my high school graduation. Elvis has been my favorite singer since the '50s. When I saw this on uTube I decided to share it here because I think the words are so true. If we seek the Lord and always let Him be our guide, we will never walk alone. How wonderful is that?

So now let's begin linking. Thank you to all who participate.

I always have mixed emotions about Mother's Day. It is a happy day and also a sad day. I remember when I was much younger my mom told me that on Mother's Day mothers wore a red rose if their mother was alive and a white one if she was not still alive. I haven't heard that theory in many years. I do remember being happy that my mom was still alive. Now she has been gone for almost 20 years. Where did the time go? Of course I still miss her. She was such a positive influence on my life. Now, my hubby and my two children have made every Mother's Day extra special for me. I will enjoy this one immensely. Yes, I'm sad my mom is no longer with us, and I know there are many other women who are sad this Mother's Day. I think especially of those who never had any children to call them mother. I like the way our Pastor includes all women when honoring mothers of Mother's Day whether they are mothers or not. Maybe it would be good to call it Women's Day.

Now it's time to share again. I do wish each woman who comes here a Happy Mother's Day or Happy Women's Day whichever you prefer.

Welcome Back

We've started a whole new month. The month of May. I never cease to be amazed at how quickly the months fly by and even the years for that matter. It is a reminder that this life is but a vapor as the Bible says. So, let's make the most of our time here on earth. I'm glad you chose to use some of your time today to come here and link and/or click on links that others have left.

Now let's get started. Who will be first?

Welcome Back

So what is your mindset?

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever thingsare honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:9

This is something I need to think about and thought maybe others would feel the same as I do. There are so many many things to think about these days that sometimes the good things are crowded out. Sometimes they are crowded out not by bad things, but by good things that are really not all that important. Anyway, just a thought I wanted to share with you.

So now, let the linking begin.

I hope everybody who comes to this linking session has a blessed Easter.

As I stated last week, it's not about the bunny or the eggs. It's not about getting new clothes to wear to church. It's about HIM. And I don't believe I have to explain who HE is to those who come here to share. Thank you for your participation.

Welcome Back

Have you ever wondered how it would have felt to have been in Jerusalem on that day? I have. Many times. Have you wondered if you would have turned on Jesus the way those people did just a few days later? I like to think I would not have. What about today? Do we find it easier to follow Jesus when it is the popular thing to do but not so easy when the going gets rough? Just something to think about.

I love the Easter season. Nope it's not about the bunny and the eggs although like children we do enjoy those things too. We must never lose sight of the real meaning of Easter.

Now it's time to begin linking. Thank you for participating.

The Lord's Prayer

I haven't posted a video in a while so I decided today I would share this one by Andrea Bocelli. I hope you will be blessed by watching it as I was. The first song I remember hearing him sing was back in 1998. The song was "Time to Say Goodbye". It was at the time when we had to make a trip to California to put my parents in a care facility. They had both developed severe dementia. As we were driving there we played that song over and over in the car. It was on a CD. The song was so beautiful but it was so sad.

On our way home, we stopped by to see a dear niece who was dying with cancer. It would be the last time we saw her alive. That was the saddest trip I have ever made. It definitely was a time to say goodbye. Anyway, since that time he has been one of my favorite singers.

Now it is time to link. Thank you for sharing with us.

Welcome Back

We've almost marched through the month of March. Will April bring showers and will May bring flowers? Yes, folks, we're well into Spring.

I'm still amazed that so many still come here and link. When we started, over 10 years ago, I couldn't have imagined there would still be so much interest in sharing here. Yes, the number of links has gone down considerably. A few years ago it was not unusual to have 50 or 60 links. Now the average is not much over 20. I've heard quality is more important than quantity. I don't believe the quality has gone down. Thank you to everyone who still shares. And now, let the new linking begin.

Happy Spring

Well, Spring has officially "sprung". I like the winter. Probably wouldn't like it so much if I lived where it really got cold and stayed that way for a long time. The winter is my favorite time here in the desert. But, I'm also glad to welcome Spring. We've already had 83ยบ weather but today it's just in the 60s. With the changing of the seasons I'm reminded of what a great idea it was when God created the world and everything in it. And not just the world, but the whole universe. I know. It's hard to wrap your mind around it. At least I know it is for me, but I do believe it. Thank you God for the Springtime.

This is a good time to start linking inspirational posts. Thank you for sharing in that.

So Sunday is St. Patrick's Day. Do you know the story of St. Patrick? It really is interesting.  I did a post on my Charlotte's Weblog blog in 2015 about St. Patrick after doing some research on the web. Here is the link if you are interested in knowing more about St. Patrick. Click right here. He was a very inspirational person.

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Now we're well into the month of March. I'm not sure why, but thinking about March made me think of the old song we use to sing in the old days - Marching to Zion. Time marches on. A whole week has gone by since we last started linking here. I know many people are looking forward to Spring which officially begins this month. Now let's march right into the sharing mode.

Last week there was sunshine in my soul in spite of the cold rainy weather. Today there is still sunshine in my soul but there is also plenty of sunshine all over the place. The sun doesn't take a vacation for very long in the desert. Hubby told me they are predicting 80 degrees next week. Now I'm not quite ready for that much sunshine, but he loves it.

You people who share here each week put sunshine in my soul. I appreciate so much the comments that you make about how much you enjoy Spiritual Sundays. It's a little ironic that the person who inspired me the most to start the blog was a blogger from Belgium. She had commented in one of her blog posts that not many people there go to church anymore. The sad part was she didn't seem to think it was a problem. I thought maybe she would be inspired by reading posts shared here. I'm not sure she ever read any of them but there have been people all over the world who have come here and been blessed by what you people share. Thank you for your faithfulness.

Today we have not seen the sunshine but it has been raining all day. Sometimes just sprinkling, sometimes a downpour. We even had a brief but powerful hail storm. This is very unusual for our area. What we are accustomed to is sunshine and lots of it. So, I am really enjoying the change. Are you familiar with the song "There is sunshine in my soul today"? Well, that's the way I feel right now. It is a gloomy day but there is sunshine in my soul. I hope that there is sunshine in your soul today no matter what the weather is like where you are.

To add to the sunshine, there will be a lot of inspiration shared by you who link here. Thank you for that. And now it is time to begin linking.

Welcome Back

Valentine's Day has passed. I have been blessed to have my special Valentine in my life for over 60 years. I think we appreciate each other more each day as we are growing older. Human love is wonderful. It was created by the God who created people in the first place. And speaking of love, there is no love here on earth that can even begin to compare to the love God has for each one of his children. As we share here each week, we affirm that fact. Thank you for participating. You are loved.

Wow, hard to believe. Another week has passed by. Before we know it, it will be summer again. I'll bet some of you are looking forward to that. Me, not so much. I'm enjoying this cooler weather.

So, without further adieu, let the linking begin. If you have not linked before and need instructions, just click on Linking Info under the header picture. It really is very simple, and everyone is welcome to participate.

Welcome Back

You know, I feel a little guilty. Just a little. Not much. But it was 75° here yesterday. Today it's only 70° but I'm hearing that in much of our country it is way below zero with the wind chill factor. I do feel for the people who live there. Maybe you are one of them. If so, try to stay warm and I hope the deep freeze won't last too long.

I hope you will be warmed by sharing and being blessed by what others have shared. So now it's time to start linking again.

It's a beautiful sunshiny Thursday morning. Yes, I said Thursday. I always try to schedule the post for Spiritual Sundays on Thursday so it will go on Friday morning. Occasionally I forget to do it altogether. I appreciate your patience when this happens. I try to not let it happen but occasionally it does. So today, I didn't forget. LOL

I hope the weather is nice where you are, but I realize that much of the world is in the grips of cold winter weather. I feel for you. I hope your sharing here will bring some sunshine into your life.

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. - Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV)

This is one of the scriptures that appeared automatically on a post from a couple of weeks ago. I love the way Linky Tools adds a different scripture each time anyone logs on to this blog. Right now I'm wondering exactly what it means. Is it a prophecy for the future? Or something else. Whatever it is, I know it is the word of God and is important. I hope it has blessed you as it has me as I read it.

Now let's get the linking started. Thank you for sharing.

Just when I'm feeling just a little "down", you pep me up with your comments. Today is a gloomy day. It's unusual for us to have a day without sunshine but looks like today is one of those no sunshine days. I came here to start a new linking and had no idea what I was going to say. Your comments made me smile. I don't need sunshine to have a good day. Thank you for your continued support of this blog.

Now, let's all smile and begin linking. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate.

Welcome Back

Hope the new year is starting off good for you. I'm pretty excited about the possibilities this year. I changed my Medicare insurance this year for the first time. The new plan includes vision and dental. I plan to take advantage of that. I didn't make any New Years resolutions. I stopped doing that years ago.

Linking here has been down lately. I know it is a very busy time of the year and expect it to pick up in the next few weeks. Maybe some will make a resolution to link more often. That would be nice. So now, for those who want to participate, let the linking begin.
