You alone are the Lord.
You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars.
You made the earth and the seas and everything in them.
You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. ~Nehemiah 9:6

Welcome Back

My daughter lives in Phoenix, but she is in Waco, TX today. She will be in Austin tomorrow. The Austin part is business. The Waco part is fun. She will be visiting the Silos today (Friday). Who knew silos would ever be so popular? I'm just assuming everyone knows about the Silos. If you don't, just ask a friend. They will probably know. I remember seeing silos when I was growing up. They were just for storage of grain. Who knew? Seems like time changes everything. Well, not everything. God doesn't change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. I'm so thankful for that reality.

And now it's time to begin linking again. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate.

We got record rain here in the desert a few days ago. There was flooding in some areas as there always is if it rains very much at all. I'm thankful we live on higher ground and it hasn't flooded here. Thinking about showers, I really enjoyed the rain showers we received. It reminded me of showers of blessings. We used to sing a song in church often about showers of blessings. We don't sing it anymore but I like to recall all the blessings the Lord has showered upon me in my lifetime. 82 years of showers of blessings. Sure there were a lot of bad times in that 82 years but sometimes even bad things can be blessings in disguise. So October 5 is my birthday. That's the day this is scheduled to post. I will be celebrating 82 years of great showers.

The next three months are my favorite months of the year. October is the birth month for both me and my daughter. November is the birth month of both my hubby and my son. Of course November is Thanks-giving and December is Christmas, my favorite holiday. So bring it on. I'm so ready for the coming weeks.

And what else am I so ready for? A new week of linking, so let's begin.

Welcome back dear friends. I guess Fall has officially arrived by now. It is getting slightly cooler here in my desert, but I'm ready for it to get really really cool. Can't expect that until sometime in December though.

So what is the flower suppose to represent here? It just represents that I love flowers, I love pink, and I thought it would brighten up an otherwise benign post. This is Thursday night. I always write the posts at least by Thursday night and schedule them to go on Friday morning. I have been known to forget it was Thursday and I had not yet scheduled. It almost happened to me tonight. All of a sudden I remembered it was Thursday night and I had not yet written a post.

I think maybe some forgot to link last week because the sharing was down a bit. There is so much going on in our lives that it is easy to sometimes forget important things. But now, let's start the linking. Thank you for being so faithful to link each week.

A few days ago we were reminded over and over again of what happened on 9/11/2001.  Never Forget was the motto. It occurred to me that there are many things in this life that we should never forget.  A lot of reasons come to my mind as I write this. I thought about listing some of them, but I'll let you make up your own list. What is it in your life that you want to never forget? At the top of my list would be to never forget that life is short at best and remember that what God has in store for those who love him is so great that we cannot even begin to comprehend it.

Some things need to be forgotten. We need to discern what needs to be remembered and what needs to be forgotten. My hope is that we can all remember this.

Welcome Back

I hope this video will be as meaningful to you as it has been to me. It's hard to get over the fact that His love is not based on my performance having spent years in a legalistic church.

Time to link again. Even though it is still pretty hot here where I live, the feeling of Fall is in the air. Did I tell you I love the Fall season? Yes, I believe I did. LOL

Welcome Back

Here in the USA this weekend is Labor Day weekend. For many it means the end of summer and the beginning of the fall season although technically fall doesn't start until September 22. Labor Day is not one of my favorite holidays mainly because both of my parents passed away on Labor Day weekends. My dad passed in 1998 and my mom exactly one year later in 1999. So I'm always kind of glad to get that weekend over with. I always look forward to the fall though because October through the end of the year is my favorite time of the year. I hope everyone who shares here has a good weekend and that many will have time to share with us here.

Welcome Back

I really enjoyed reading the comments on last week's post. I'm glad the book is being so well received.  Yes, I feel very blessed that Jamie is our pastor. Scottsdale Bible Church is a great church. I look forward to every sermon and the worship assembly is always a blessing. The church supports many missionaries and does so much good in the Phoenix area as well.

Hard to believe it is time to begin linking again, but it is. August is almost gone. I always look forward to the fall, my favorite time of the year.

Finding Joy

Our Senior Pastor has just published his first book. I watched a live review of the book on facebook. I think it is a book everyone should read. Of course I may be a little prejudiced because I love Jamie Rasmussen. My hubby is a retired pastor and Pastor Jamie's preaching style is much like his. If you need more joy in your life, I recommend you get Jamie's book. It's available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. I wanted to embed the interview here but it wouldn't let me do that.

And now it's time to link again. Where does the time go???

Thirty one. We had 31 links last week. That is the most we've had in quite a while. There was a time when we had between 50 and 60. Many people have stopped blogging since that time. When I go to some of the blogs that use to post regularly they have either deleted their blog or have not posted in months or even years. I understand it. I have 6 blogs and this is the only one I keep up now. I think Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other things are taking up people's time now. We are living in a world that wants everything to be instant. Instant gratification. Fast food. Fast everything. I think we need to slow down a little. Thank you for slowing down and linking here. You're the best.

Thank you for the nice comments you made last week. Yes, those ten years passed quickly. Now we are into August. School has already started in some places. Christmas can't be far off. If I could I would slow the time down at least a little bit.

Hot weather is definitely here. I am so very thankful for air conditioners. We are waiting for workers to get here to install new air conditioners. They are sure expensive, but worth every penny. It's only supposed to get up to 110 today.

So, let the linking begin. Everyone is invited to participate.

Yes! Now we have been sharing INSPIRATIONAL POSTS on this blog for 10 years. I like to believe that many lives have been made better because of this fact. For those of you who have been with us from the beginning or almost from the beginning, a big thank you for your faithfulness. For those who have been here a short time or even new here, we hope you will also be blessed. The first time we opened up for linking was in August of 2008. I think it is kind of fun to go back to those early days and click on some of the links. Wow.  That ten years went by quickly.

Let's make the next ten years even more inspirational.

Yes. It's that time again. I'm just thinking about computers and the internet and reminded of how different communication is today compared to a few decades ago. And things keep changing. I just got back from Best Buy. My hubby needed a new mouse for his computer. Now he is a little old fashioned and wanted another wired mouse. Well, we got there and there were lots and lots of mouses (mice?) and for a while we didn't see a single wired one. They were all wireless. Finally he spotted one all by itself way over in the corner. Yes. He bought it.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. Can't believe school will be starting again next month. I still think September is when school should start (like in the old days.)  So now, welcome back to Spiritual Sundays.

Welcome Back Again

First of all, thank you for the kind comments last week. It's still hard to believe we've been married 60 years. I can remember when I thought anyone reaching their 50th was really really old. It's amazing how the older you get your perspective changes. Yes. I'm really old but I don't feel really old (except when I start to stand up after sitting for awhile. LOL And even then I realize it is a physical thing. The older I get the more I realize that the body ages but the spirit does not. I think that is amazing.

So now it's time to start linking again.

Now the 4th of July has come and gone. Hubby and I will celebrate our 60th Wedding Anniversary on July 11. I still have my wedding dress. When I look at it now I wonder how in the world I ever fit into it. It looks so tiny. LOL Actually I was pretty slim 60 years ago. Just barely over 100 lbs. Here's a photo of us. I was wishing our wedding photos had been in color but they didn't make them in color in 1958. Now I'm so glad they are black and white because colored ones many times faded badly.
And now it's time to link again. Linking was down a little last week. It's not surprising because of the 4th coming up. Church attendance was way down as well.

Hello Again

Thank you so much for your kind comments last week. I had thought the linking would probably be down this summer because of vacations and such but that has not been the case. Linking has actually been up some the last few weeks. Thank you for that.

Now it's time to link again. Can you believe how fast a week goes by? It always amazes me. LOL  If you happen to be new here and would like to share with us, there is information about linking under "Linking Info" under the header picture. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.

Happy Summer

Now summer is officially here. June is almost gone. July is right around the corner. July 2008 was when we started creating this blog and getting ready for people to link. That was ten years ago. Sure doesn't seem like it could be that long. Originally my niece, Ginger, co-hosted Spiritual Sundays. She dropped out several years ago because she just had too many other things she was committed to and really didn't have the time. She does deserve the credit for us starting Spiritual Sundays because it was her original idea. For those of you who remember Ginger, she is doing well. She is presently serving as a church secretary and loves her job. She and her husband still live in California but we are still trying to convince them to move to Arizona.

Time now to start linking again. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Stars Star Shimmer Blue Ice Cold Winter Fr
I know it is mostly women who participate in sharing here on this blog but there are a few men so to them I want to say Happy Father's Day. I hope it is all you can wish for or imagine. For those of you fortunate enough to have your fathers still with you, I say don't forget to give them all the love they deserve. Actually, maybe not all the love they deserve, but all the love you have to give to them. They will not always be with you.  Of course the best father and the "ultimate" father is our Heavenly Father. We know He deserves all the love we can possibly give.

So now let's begin linking. How blessed I have been to be able to provide this service for almost ten years. Thank you for your continued support.

Welcome Back

Two things have I asked of thee; Deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me falsehood and lies; Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is needful for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or lest I be poor, and steal, And use profanely the name of my God. - Proverbs 30:7-9 (ASV)

The above scripture appeared on Spiritual Sundays when I just looked at it. I love that Linky Tools has the option of putting a scripture on each post and that it changes every time you click on this blog. Thank you, Linky Tools and thank you for providing this wonderful service.

Now it's time to link again. I hope everyone is having a good summer. No it's not officially summer but it feels like it here in the desert.

First of all I want to thank you for all the nice comments you made last week. God is good. Life is good (most of the time). Now I say welcome to June. While June is not my favorite month, it is also not one of my least favorite. LOL Hard to believe the year is almost half over. I don't know why I'm surprised though. Actually I'm not surprised. But I am amazed.

Time to share again. I thought the sharing might be down last week because of the holiday but it was actually up. Thank you for your continued support of this blog.

This Memorial Day is special to me in more ways than one. It marks the 70th anniversary of my baptism. I was 11 years old and was baptized in a little church in Norwalk, California. It was shortly after this, in the month of June that I first met my future husband. I had no idea I would one day marry him, but that did happen almost exactly ten years later in 1958. I spent the summer of 1948 in Oklahoma visiting relatives there and Clif happened to be the little brother of Charles who had married my aunt Vivian. They lived in Lawton, Oklahoma. I would later move to Lawton and go to high school there before moving back to California. I'm always amazed at how God works things out.

People will be busy this weekend doing special family things but many will take the time to share with us here on Spiritual Sundays.

Thank You

Thanks for all the nice comments last week. Mother's Day was wonderful. Memorial Day will be here in a few days followed by Father's Day. I'm telling you, it won't be long before we will be putting up the Christmas trees. I really don't mind though. I love Christmas. 😀

So for now let's keep the inspiration going. Time to link again.

Mothers are special. God gave mothers a unique "function" to fill. Of course not all women are mothers but all women have/had mothers. My wish for all children is to have a mom as special as mine was. No, she wasn't perfect. Nobody is, but she came pretty close. She went to be with God in 1999. It has been over 18 years and I still miss her, especially on Mother's Day. I remember back in the 1960s women wore corsages to church on Mother's Day. I have special memories of my hubby buying me and my mom corsages as she always visited us on Mother's Day. One year I made her and me dresses that were similar. Hers was yellow, mine was blue. Our corsages matched our dresses. This was just a couple of years after women stopped wearing hats and gloves to church.

Here's a picture of us.

So this Mother's Day, we are all blessed to be able to share our inspirational thoughts. Thank you again for your faithful participation.

Welcome Back

Here we are now into the month of May. Mother's Day is coming up next week. Many times I am blessed with early Mother's Day gifts. This year has been one of them. My iPad was getting really old and slow so now I have a brand new model. I got the first one for Mother's Day years ago and have enjoyed it more than I ever thought I would. Then I "hinted" to my daughter I would like to have a keyboard case for it so she ordered one online. It came really quick so she went ahead and gave it to me early. So is Mother's Day basically over for me? Nope. I'm looking forward to being taken to the restaurant of my choice and spending the day with my hubby and children.

So now it's time to begin linking again. Thank you for being here and for participating.

WELCOME back my friends. Can you believe another week has passed and it's time to begin linking again? The number of links have been down recently. I suspect the trend will continue as school will be out again soon and people will be on vacation. I appreciate all of you who have been so faithful to link. And for you who do not link often, I understand. There are so many things that grab our attention these days.

I hope everyone is having a nice spring. I know the weather is still cold in some areas but it is really nice here in the desert right now.

Jesus said. "In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

What a true statement this is. Every day there are things that happen that we say, "That is just not right. That should not happen", but it does. How do people who do not have this hope survive? Our attitude will have a lot to do with how we see adversity. Do we see it as an opportunity to rely more on God than we have been doing? Do we just give up and say the world is just going to hell and I'm not going to think about it? What is the answer? I believe the last part of the scripture answers it. "Be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." Perhaps if we repeat this to ourselves often, it will "sink in" and we will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Remember, Jesus is THE LIGHT.

Time to start linking again. Thank you again all who participate in any way.

Traffic Feed

From time to time, I like to look at the traffic feed near the bottom on the right column. I'm always amazed to see all the different places from which people are coming to this blog. Not just people from the United States, but from all over the world. It still boggles my mind to realize that just a few short years ago this would have been impossible. It wouldn't have even come to our minds. The internet really is an amazing thing. And the fact that it can be instantly translated into another language is just as amazing. Wow.

So no matter where you come from, I'm glad you're here reading this right now - perhaps even in another language. Inspiration is not just for Americans but for the whole world. I hope you will be inspired by what others have shared here. Everyone is invited to participate.

On My Way to Heaven

Another inspirational video.

The older I get and the more of my friends and relatives have died, I'm thinking more about heaven than I did when I was younger. I'm sure this is the case with many people. My hubby is a retired pastor. He doesn't preach anymore but he still does memorial services. So many former members of our congregation had requested years ago that they want Clif to do their memorial service. This Saturday morning will be one of those times. It will be for the wonderful Christian man who played the piano at our last church  He didn't just "play" the piano, he was a great piano player and was also a great singer and an elder at the church. We had the service for his wife almost exactly a year ago. They were both a few years younger than I am. Life is short. When you're young you think you will never get old, and then before you know it, it happens. You're old. I'm so thankful that we have this blessed hope of heaven because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross. The above video is a great reminder of that fact.

OK, now it's time to begin linking. Thank you for your participation.

I Can Only Imagine

Just returned from watching this movie. Wow, it was really powerful. I'm wondering if Hollywood will ever wake up and realize what most people want to see these days. They live in their own little bubble. I highly recommend it. I've loved the song for years and now I know the story behind the song.

Thank you for your condolence comments last week. We went over to California for her memorial service. It was a quick trip but good to see other relatives there. I made a DVD of Vivian's life which they showed at the memorial service. Anybody else out there make DVDs on their computer? I've made over 30 in the past several years. If you haven't tried it and have the programs on your computer to facilitate it, you should try it. It really is a satisfying hobby.

OK. Now it's time to link. Thank you again for your steadfast loyalty to this endeavor.

Aunt Vivian

This week I want to pay tribute to a lovely lady who was my aunt for 81 years. She was only 7 years old when I was born. She lived to the age of 88. I think like Billy Graham she would say she is more alive now than she has ever been. And now she has no more pain or sorrow. God called her home last Saturday morning. My parents both came from large families so at one time I had a lot of aunts and uncles. Aunt Vivian was my last remaining aunt. My uncles are all gone as well. I will miss Vivian. She also became my sister-in-law when I married her husband's brother almost 60 years ago. Goodbye for awhile Vivian. RIP

Now it is time to begin linking again. Thank you for your steadfast encouragement.

You have probably seen this video online, maybe on Facebook. I thought it was so good that I decided to share it here in case someone hasn't seen it. And if you have seen it, you might want to watch it again. Billy Graham inspired so many people and I can just imagine his homecoming a few days ago. Wow. And besides that, Michael W. Smith's music always inspires me too.
Now it is time to start sharing again.Thank you for your faithfulness.

March has just marched in as it does every year. Well, actually sometimes it blows in but I prefer to think of it as marching in. LOL March is one of my least favorite months but now days I'm happy to see another month no matter if it is a favorite or not. I've said so many times and you probably tire of hearing it, but I'm always amazed at how quickly a year goes by. Eternity is ahead. I'm not ready to go just yet but I am looking forward to it.

In the meantime, it's time to link again. Thank you to all who participate.

Valentine's Day is coming up in a few days. I am so blessed to have a hubby who really celebrates the day. It will start out with a visit to my favorite restaurant for my favorite breakfast, Swedish Pancakes with lingonberry sauce. I hope each one of you is treated special in some way. One thing for sure, our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and that is the best love of all.

So now, let's share the love by linking special thoughts and prayers.
