You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. ~Nehemiah 9:6

WELCOME

Saw this several times on Facebook and thought, "why not?" Why not share it here on this blog. Monday will be Halloween. I loved Halloween when I was a kid. Loved dressing up, trick-or-treating and Halloween parades. I was even into it when my kids were small. That was a long time ago and maybe I'm getting old, but now I don't like that holiday at all. To me it represents death and evil. I'm always glad when it is over. Fall is my favorite time of the year, however, and I think this picture represents it well.

  1. That picture looks just like what I was seeing from my window about a week ago!

Is there a problem with the link? There doesn't seem to be a place to click for linkup.

  2. Halloween isn't my favorite holiday either, though like you, I love the fall. I like the imagination that Halloween provokes...the children's pleasure. But, I don't like all the scary things and the adults acting like idiots.

  3. Charlotte, I miss the leaves falling that I remember as a child. We don't have much of a fall here in the Southwest so thanks for the glimpse of what I'm missing and thanks for hosting. Fall blessings! Donna

  5. Your post regarding Halloween is similar to my thoughts on it. Growing up, we didn't go as they call it Trick or Treating much, and it was not that big of a deal as it is today. But I so love all the Summer greens turning to the awesome colors of Fall and the weather is great. Just not that fond of what follows here in Ohio. Cold and more cold.

  6. I love fall or autumn as we call it in England. It is one of my favourite times of year.

When I was younger celebrating Halloween was not part of our culture. It slowly seeped into our culture here, perhaps after watching the film ET... For the reasons you mention I have always felt uncomfortable about the (for me) new tradition.

  7. I will be very happy when the election is over. Regardless of who ends up being president my prayer is that they do a better job leading our country than they did campaigning...because this has been a horror show.
