You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. ~Nehemiah 9:6

UPDATE ON SIDEBAR LINKS TO THIS BLOG

The links have been changed for the little widget pictures available to be put on your sidebars that link to Spiritual Sundays. If you have one of these on your blog you will notice that the picture has been replaced by a notice from Photobucket. I have gotten new codes that no longer link to Photobucket. You need to replace the code for the link to the new code under the picture on my sidebar. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm both happy and sad to see 2016 come to an end. But I am excited about what the new year may bring. With so many problems in the world I'm eager to see what God is going to do. I see prophecy being fulfilled. I can't help but believe that the return of Jesus can't be too far off. I suppose people in the first century thought the same thing so we never know for sure whether it will be soon or two thousand more years, but I chose to believe it will be sooner rather than later. In the meantime, let's keep encouraging one another with inspirational thinking. It's time to link again.

Drummer Boy

Your comments to me this past week mean so much to me. This weekend is Christmas and I know everyone will be extra busy. Thank you for taking your time to visit here.

The Drummer Boy video was filmed at church. It was part of our Christmas program this year.  I wish everyone could have seen it live. This is one of my favorite Christmas songs. I hope you will enjoy watching it.

Merry Christmas blessings to everyone.

Welcome Back Again

We had the fewest number of links last week that we have had since we started this blog over eight years ago. I think it is partly my fault. Maybe it's all my fault. I forgot to put the code in for the linking to start until some time after it was posted. I'll try not to do that this time. I think another reason is that people are so busy right now with the holidays that they haven't had time to participate here. Next weekend will be Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. No doubt the links will be fewer than ever that week. Whether you share or not, if you are here right now reading this, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Blessings,

The Greatest Gift

I'm so pleased to have my Christmas shopping done and the presents all wrapped and under the tree.
I admit it. I love Christmas. But, as we're exchanging gifts let's not forget the reason for the season and the greatest gift of all time. This is a gift we should share with everyone whenever the opportunity arises.

A little hint: We did all of our Christmas shopping online. So simple and fast.

Now let's give the gift of sharing by linking here. If you need instructions, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for more information. Everyone is welcome to share.
Blessings,

Welcome Back

December is here and in just a few days it will be Christmas again. This is my favorite time of the year. Tree is already up and decorated.
I'm thankful for online shopping. I'm thankful for many many things. Thanksgiving is over but giving thanks lasts the whole year through. Of course I'm most thankful for Jesus whose birthday is celebrated around the world this month.

I'm thankful for all of you who come here each week and share with us. Thank you again for your participation. It's time to link again.

Welcome Back

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I thought my daughter was making the turkey this year but she is having her kitchen remodeled and they didn't quite get finished with it. It was supposed to be finished before Thanksgiving but "surprise" it wasn't. I do wish everyone was as efficient as I am. hahha. Anyway, I really don't mind fixing the dinner. I always bake the pies anyway. Yes. I'm really ahead of the game. Already have the tree up and decorated. Usually do that after Thanksgiving, but this year we decorated before. We can enjoy it longer that way.

Linking has been down a little the past couple of weeks. I think everybody is extra busy this time of year. For those of you participating, it's time to link again.

Welcome Friends

Wow, this month is getting away. Thanksgiving is in just a few days followed by Christmas just a few days after that. I know it is always that way every year, but it still surprises me how quickly these days are upon us and then in a flash they are over.  The older I get the more I realize that just a few more "flashes" and it will all be over. That is life on earth as we know it now. Many people believe that is all there is. Just life on this earth. I'm so thankful that when this life is over eternity is just beginning. Wow. That is just plain mind-boggling.

In the meantime, let's continue to share inspiration with each other. Thank you to everyone who links and everyone who is inspired by what others share. You guys are the best.

Hugs & Blessings,

WELCOME

Well, last week we were looking forward to the election here in the U.S. It was a nail-biter for awhile but in the end it turned out the way I was hoping and praying that it would. If anyone reading this was hoping for a Hillary victory, I still love you and hope you feel the same about me. As many have said, no matter who is President, Jesus is still King. That is what we all need to remember.

November is passing quickly as every month does, and it will soon be Thanksgiving. Wow, I do love this time of the year.

Now it's time to start linking. Thank you everyone for your participation.

Welcome Back

For those of us living in America, we are expecting to find out in a few days who our new president will be. I hope it doesn't turn out like the election when Bush was running against Al Gore. We didn't find out who had won until in January. I hope all of you will vote and vote for the person you honestly believe will do the best job.

OK, and now it's time to start linking. Click Linking Info under the header picture if you need instructions.

WELCOME

Saw this several times on Facebook and thought, "why not?" Why not share it here on this blog. Monday will be Halloween. I loved Halloween when I was a kid. Loved dressing up, trick-or-treating and Halloween parades. I was even into it when my kids were small. That was a long time ago and maybe I'm getting old, but now I don't like that holiday at all. To me it represents death and evil. I'm always glad when it is over. Fall is my favorite time of the year, however, and I think this picture represents it well.

It's A Small World

I've mentioned this in the past but not lately. Have you noticed how many countries are represented by the people who come to this blog? I just looked at the live traffic feed at the bottom of the right column and saw that half of them were from countries other than the United States. I think this is just marvelous. From time to time I hear someone say, "It's a small world." Speaking of Small World, it reminded me of Disneyland. I've been there many times. Seems like almost every time we went there we ran into someone we knew. That's incredible when you realize how many people go there every day. Not only Disneyland, but we went to Israel back in 1978. My husband commented to me, "I wonder if we'll run into anyone we know here." Of course he was joking because he had no idea that we would, but guess what. We ran into someone in Jerusalem we had known for years and had not seen in years. What are the chances of that? Yes, it is a small world, and I'm glad that people from all over the world are being blessed by wonderful things that each of you share here each week.

Now it's time to link again. Thank you for your participation.

Welcome Back

Thank you for the belated birthday wishes. It is still hard for me to believe I am 80 years old. Many women don't want their age revealed. I have never been one of them. Maybe it is because I looked younger than my age back when I wanted to not look younger. When I was in my 20s salesmen would come to our door and want to know if my mother was home. It infuriated me. People who met me for the first time would remark to my husband, "You robbed the cradle". He was only 2 years older than me and that also made me angry. Now I think if anything he looks younger than I do. Now I am 80 and long for those days. LOL  Oh well, at this point, what difference does it make.

Now let's get on to something that IS important. Time to share again.

Here I Am, Lord

I saw this on Facebook and decided I wanted to share it here. I think it is beautiful and very inspirational. Good way for me to celebrate my birthday. Yes, on Wednesday I reached the big 8 - 0. How is that possible? Never thought it would get here so fast.
Time to begin sharing again. Thank you for the kind comments you continue to bless me with.

WELCOME

It has been 2 weeks now since I did something to make my good knee my worst knee. After staying off my feet most of the time for the last two weeks, and Tylenol plus topical treatment on each knee, I am happy to say they are much better. I still won't be doing a lot of walking but then I haven't been doing a lot of walking for a long time. I'm just happy with the progress that I've been having. When I see pictures of people who have no legs I'm ashamed that I ever even complain about the pain. God is good. He has blessed me in so many ways I couldn't begin to count them.  I'm glad I have been able to continue hosting this sharing blog for so many years and hope I will be able to do it for many more years.

Now it's time to link again. If you need instructions, click on Linking Info under the header picture. It really is kind of self explanatory once you click on "You are next".

WELCOME

It is that time again. Time to begin another weekend of linking. This time I am asking for your prayers. For several years I have had problems with one of my knees and recently the other knee has really been hurting. I was told by my doctor about 10 years ago that I would eventually need knee replacement. I have really really not wanted to do that. I know a lot of people have had it done and it turned out great but I have also heard of some that didn't do so well. Anyway, I just wanted you all to know and to pray for me.

Welcome Back Again

Well, my Labor Day weekend was pleasant. You did surprise me a bit. Links were down from the week before, but were about average. I appreciate the kind thoughts and words from those of you who comment here. It really means a lot to me.

I am really welcoming the cooler weather. It's not really cool yet but it is "cooler" than it was. I'm looking forward to the fall holidays and of course, Christmas, which will be here before we know it. Hard to believe, but it's true.

Now, let's start linking again. Thank you for your continued interest in sharing here.

Welcome Back

So here in America this weekend is Labor Day weekend. It is considered unofficially the end of summer. Can we still wear white? I saw a special on TV a few days ago on the subject. They said "yes". So I guess it's OK. Really questions like this are pretty superficial. There are many questions that are more relevant to our lives. Just a thought — aren't there white robes in heaven? I doubt it is a seasonal thing. Anyway, happy September everybody. I expect there to be fewer links because of the holiday, but you might just surprise me. So let the linking begin.

Welcome Back Again

Again, I am always amazed at how fast a week flies by. Can it be that the weekend is already here again. Maybe it's because we're retired that the time passes so quickly. Or maybe it's my age. I know weeks were much longer when I was younger. LOL

So, now it is time to begin linking again. Thank you everyone for continuing to share with us week after week.

Welcome Back

Summer is winding down in our part of the world, and school has started in many places. It still seems to me like school should always start after Labor Day. But of course I'm not in charge so I guess I will just have to let them start whenever they want to. LOL

Yesterday we visited an old friend we had not seen in awhile. He is younger than I am and he is dying. The doctors say he could die tomorrow or he could live two more years. The reason I am even mentioning this is because I was so impressed with his attitude. When we walked in, he was lying down watching TV. He gave us a hardy welcome and when asked how he was feeling, he said "terrific". He said he didn't hurt anywhere and that is amazing because he has advanced rheumetoid arthritis.  At one time he played the piano for the church we were with. And he was not just an ordinary piano player, he was an outstanding one. He had his own style and added a lot of extra notes in everything he played. He has been unable to play the piano now for several years. He wants to keep living but he isn't afraid to die. He knows heaven will be his destination. I wish everyone could approach their last days like he is. What an inspiration he is.

So now, let's start linking those inspirional posts. All of you inspire me by the way you continue to link with us week after week.

Welcome Back

Wow, am I glad I increased the characters for post titles last week. Several of you commented on how much you appreciated it. I wish I had thought of it sooner. In fact, I wish I had thought of it period. Thanks again, Gail, for the suggestion.

For those of you who remember Ginger who co-hosted this blog when we first started it, I thought you might be interested to know that she and her hubby were guests in our home last weekend. They live in California and we don't get to see them very often so it is always a treat when they come to see us.

I know I don't need to remind you that we all need to be in prayer for the future of our country. Of course even more so we need to be praying for the entire world. I really believe that we are getting pretty close to the time when God will say "enough" and "it's time for all this craziness to come to an end." Of course he won't say it that way, but that is my "interpretation" of it.

In the meantime, now it's time to begin linking again. Thank you to everyone who participates.

FORTY-FIVE CHARACTERS

Have you noticed that now you can have a longer title for the post you share? For a long time it was limited to 15 characters. Gail Griner Golden asked if it would be possible to increase it because it was sometimes difficult to make the title that short. Thank you, Gail, for this suggestion. Honestly I hadn't thought about it before, but you're right. Fifteen characters just isn't enough so I've increased it to 45. It also occurred to me that others may have suggestions that will improve this blog. I'm not saying I will make the change, but I will certainly consider it.

So now it is time to start linking. I hope you enjoy the character change. And if you need information on how to link, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.

EIGHT YEARS

Hard to believe it has been eight years since my niece, Ginger and I started this blog. The first linking was the first of August 2008. Twenty-one people linked that first week. Many people have been blessed through the years by sharing here. And many friends have been made too. I have made many cyber friends since I started blogging years ago. Many who I never met in person in this life I expect to get acquainted with face to face in the future eternal life. I thank God for the inspiration he gave Ginger and me to start this blog in the first place. I really do believe it was a God thing.

So now we are starting year number 9. At one time we were having 50 to 60 links each week. Now it is down to 30 something each week. Many people have quit blogging. I think social media has a lot to do with it. At one time I had 6 blogs going and now this is the only one I do on a regular basis.  I intend to continue with this blog as long as I am able or until interest falls to the level that I feel like it isn't really serving a purpose. Each one of you has been such a blessing to me through the years.

Those of you who remember Ginger might like to know that she is doing well. She quit co-hosting this blog a few years ago because she was so busy with her grand kids and other obligations.  She is now working as church secretary for the church she has been a member of for many years. She loves her job. Here is a picture of Ginger and me back when we were co-hosting Spiritual Sundays.

Welcome Back

Thank you for being so understanding last week when I forgot (again) to start the linking until late Friday. Thank you for your encouraging comments. As Debby Ray said, "Thank goodness this world is not our home." I couldn't agree more. Too often we tend to forget that truth. Thank you, Debby, for the reminder.

This time I didn't forget, and it's time to start linking. If you need instructions, just click on Linking Info under the header picture.

Huh Oh

Good grief. I can't believe it. I was just thinking I need to start the Spiritual Sundays post and realized it isn't Thursday. This is Friday. Good grief. Somehow I seem to have lost a day. I guess I am getting old. I know I am getting old. Maybe I can blame it on watching all the bad news on TV which was getting my attention. And boy, there is plenty of that to distract anyone. I don't need to tell you that we all need to be in prayer for our world in turmoil.  And I hope you will forgive me for being late in posting this.

Number Fifty-Eight

It happens every year exactly one week after the 4th of July. At least it has for the past 58 years. What is it? It's our wedding anniversary. I think this year is extra special because of the number 58. We were married in 1958 and this year it will be 58 years. How about that? Fifty-eight years ago I married my best friend, and he is still my best friend. God has been so good to both of us. Certainly there have been ups and downs as in every marriage, but thankfully it was mostly "ups".

Now it's time to start sharing again. It is my privilege to be able to host this each week. And thank you for sharing.

Independence

Independence is something everyone seeks at one time or another. We saw it again last week when Britain voted to be independent of the European Union. Children are eager to grow up and be independent. Independence is a good thing, but sometimes people want to be independent from God and that is a very bad thing. Of course independence is on my mind as I write this because Monday is Independence Day in America. So, if you live in America, Happy Independence Day.
And now it is time to begin linking. Thank you for your continued participation each week. You are all so precious to me.

WELCOME

It is mostly women who come to this blog, but we do have men at least sometimes. So, men, if you're here, I hope you have a terrific weekend.

When I think of fathers, of course I think of my own dad who would be 103 now if he was still on this earth. He's been gone for 17 years, but I still miss him. He was by no means a perfect man, but he was a good man, and the main thing I remember about him is that he always gave me unconditional love. I can't remember him ever putting me down or acting displeased with me. Surely it did happen, but if so it wasn't often, because I can't remember a single time.

When I think of fathers, I also think of my hubby who has always been a wonderful father to our two children. And of course, I also think of my Heavenly Father who unlike all fathers here on earth, is perfect in every way.

Time to start linking. I'm glad I didn't forget to do it this time. LOL Just click on Linking Info under the header picture if you need instructions on linking.

AGAIN

Yes. it happened again. For those of you who link early on Friday, my apologies. I always write the new post on Thursday and schedule it to go on Friday morning. All of a sudden I realized this is Friday morning - and I forgot. I'm going to blame it on my computer. I have a little app called Pester that is supposed to remind me, and the little rascal didn't do it's job. LOL Surely it isn't my fault. Yes, it is my fault. I won't rely on that app again.

So now, is the time to begin linking. Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Welcome Back

I was right. We had less links last week than we usually do. Not many less, but less nevertheless. When we have a holiday weekend, people are busy doing many things. I've noticed over the years that church attendance is always down on Memorial Day weekend as well. I guess it's hard for me to understand because we go to church EVERY week — unless we're on vacation, out of town, etc. Now that I think about it, I guess that explains it. Many are on vacation, out of town, etc. on holidays. Of course church attendance is up on some holidays — Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day.

So there is no holiday this weekend. Let the linking begin.

WELCOME BACK

For us here in America, this will be a long weekend. It is a very special day that we observe. Unfortunately many just think of it as a day they don't have to work and a day to play. Actually it is a day to remember all those who fought and died in wars so that we can remain free. As I have stated in the past, it is also a day of remembrance for me inthat I was baptized on Memorial Day way back in 1948 when I was 11 years old. Because of the long weekend, there may not be as many links but I have thought that before and turns out there were more than ever, so we will see.

Nope. Not gonnna let it happen this time. LOL I was really embarrassed last week when I forgot to start the linking until later Friday afternoon when it finally crossed my mind. I'm doing it early this time in spite of the fact I have a reminder scheduled on my computer for later today. I appreciate the kind comments from last week.

Memorial Day is right around the corner and Father's Day won't be very long after that. Yes, this year is getting away too quickly.

I can't believe I totally forgot to start Spiritual Sundays this morning. I always do it on Thursday night and schedule it to go on Friday morning. This week I completely forgot to do it. Maybe I'm getting old. Nah couldn't be that. I'm not quite 80 yet. LOL But, I do apologize.

So, a little late, but not for most of you, you can now start linking.

Welcome

Yes, I know. We have men who share here too and not all women are mothers, but for those of you who are mothers, I want to wish you a Happy Mother's Day. I hope your children are as good to you as mine are to me. I always look forward to spending the day with them, a nice lunch at the restaurant of my choice, and nice gifts as well. My Hubby always makes it a very special day for me too. What a blessing to have a loving caring family.

Welcome Back

Don't you just love the spring time? This is a bush growing in our back yard. In fact, we have two of these bushes. God has blessed this world and this country with so much beauty. When I see pictures of some of the countries in the middle east and Africa for example, all you see is tan - no color hardly at all. An exception is Israel. Israel has a lot of beauty. I can't help but wonder if there is a reason it is that way.  What do you think?

Now it is time to share inspiration once again. Thank you for your faithfulness in sharing each week.

FIXER UPPER

Some of the most popular TV shows now involve property and house renovations. They take a house that is just absolutely horrible in some cases and turn it into a beautiful home. While thinking about this, it occurred to me that people are sometimes fixer uppers. In fact, probably most if not everyone might fall into that category at some time in their lives. The good news is that God can do a wonderful job of "fixing" anyone if they will just turn to him. The sad news is that most people either don't understand this or, in some cases, don't really want to be better than they are. I think we all need to just think about where we are right now, and whether we are in need of a "renovation", and trust that God can actually make us into a new creation.

Now it's time to share inspirational posts. If you are new here and need instructions about who should share and how, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for more information.

WELCOME BACK

When we first started Spiritual Sundays, we used a different linking service than we do now. We formerly used Mr. Linky. A few years ago, we switched to Linky Tools. I don't know about Mr. Linky but I know that the owner of Linky Tools is a Christian. Don't you just love it that there is a different scripture at the end of every post? In fact, there is a different scripture every time you log in to Spiritual Sundays. This is provided by Linky Tools. I have no control over which scripture is shown. It is done automatically. I totally appreciate that.

Now it's time to link again, so let's get started. And don't forget to read each Linky Tools scripture.

WELCOME BACK AGAIN

There is always something interesting going on in our world. Even though this is not the America I grew up in, it is still a wonderful place. When I think of all the other places in the world there is to live, I am grateful to be right where I am. I've been to many other countries and totally enjoyed visiting each and every one of them, but I'm happy to be back here in my desert. I've lived close to the ocean and I've lived in the midwest. I thought the desert would be one of the last places on earth I would want to live, but the Lord knew this is where we were meant to be at this time, and I couldn't agree more. I hope each of you can say the same about wherever it is that you live.

I'm grateful for many things, not the least of which is each one of you who come here on a regular basis to share inspirational posts. Now it is time to link again. If you need more information about how to link, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
