You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you.~Nehemiah 9:6
Linking will begin on Christmas Day this year. For some of you, Christmas will be over by the time you see this. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas. In just a few days it will be a brand new year. Thank you everyone who has been so faithful to share with us this year. I know you have been blessed. I've been blessed to be able to provide this venue for sharing. This is your last chance to share in 2015. I hope many will take advantage of the opportunity.

Last week we had 58 links.
That is the most we've had in quite a while. I would have thought the numbers would be down with all the holiday activities going on right now. Since it is less than a week to Christmas, I would be surprised if the links are not down this week, but maybe not. Thank you for your faithfulness. Now it is time to link again.
Welcome back to another weekend of sharing inspiration. I'm still amazed that so many are sharing with us each week. When we started this blog seven years ago, I had no idea that so many people would be impacted for so many years. Thank you again all who share here each week.
If you would like to join us by sharing an inspirational post on your blog, we hope you will do just that. Even if you don't have a blog I know you will be blessed by clicking on the links that are here.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I talked to an 89 year old friend this morning. I asked her if she had a good Thanksgiving. She said "Oh, yes, it was the best Thanksgiving I've ever had". Wow, wouldn't it be nice if everyone could make that statement — especially if they are almost 90 years old. You might think since she is that old maybe she has just forgotten the previous ones, but no. This lady has a great memory.
I guess there was just too much going on last week for some because there were less links than usual. I suspect it may be that way until after the holidays. That's OK. We'll keep giving you the opportunity to share. If you are new to Spiritual Sundays and need more info about how to link, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
Week before last the "magic" number was 55. Today I'm introducing a new number. Have any idea what the number 563 represents?
Just look up at the small pictures and it will give you a clue. Is your picture there? Of course all of them are not shown. If you click on more it will reveal the others. If your picture is not there, you might want to become a follower and yours will be the first one in line. :)
This linky starts on Friday. Here in America this Friday is called Black Friday. That's when the Christmas shopping season officially gets underway. Some stores have really good sales — so good that people will stand in line for hours waiting for them to open. Not me. I am amazed though that Christmas is so near. Seems like summer just ended. Oh well, that's the way it is.

This Thursday will be Thanksgiving Day in America. I realize that other countries have a day of Thanksgiving and I'm glad they do. Even if you are not in America, I know you will want to give thanks for all that God has done in your life not just this week, but every day of your life.
The whole world has been reminded again of the evil that is running rampant in our world. We know that the terrorists may strike again anywhere. We pray that the terrorists will be defeated and that they will come to understand how wrong their philosophy is. As hard as it is to do, we need to pray that they will "see the light" and stop doing these terrible acts.
Now it is time to begin another week of linking. Click on Linking Info under the header picture if you need instructions.
Is 55 the "magic" number? I've noticed we've had 55 links each of the last three weeks. Fifty five is a good number, but maybe 60 would be better? Or maybe 65?
My oldest child turned 55 last month. Yes, 55 is good. If you come here and there are 54 links, you might want to consider being number 55. LOL
Thank you again for the nice compliments you continue to give me. I do appreciate it.
Time to link is now. Let's get started.
If you need instructions, click on Linking Info under the header picture.
I hope you're enjoying the season. It has gotten a lot cooler where I live but certainly not as cool as in the picture above. It is snowing in the northern part of our state though. I think this is a good reminder of what a beautiful diverse world our God created for us. And - if it is so beautiful now, how much more beautiful will it be when He renews it to what it was before man brought the curse upon himself and all creation. Wow, I'm ready for it.
In the meantime, we can continue to inspire one another by sharing here on Spiritual Sundays. It's so nice that new people are discovering us all the time. God is definitely blessing this ministry. I do consider it a ministry.
If you need information about how to link, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions. Everyone is welcome.
This Saturday is Halloween. I thought Halloween was an American holiday, but seems it is celebrated in other parts of the world, mostly Europe. (I discovered that by Googling it. :)) I loved Halloween when I was a kid. It was so much fun getting dressed up and going out Trick or Treating and coming home with a bag full of all kinds of goodies. My children enjoyed Halloween when they were young as well. I can remember some people not liking Halloween and I thought they were "old fogies".
Now that I'm "old", I guess I've become one of those "old fogies." I really don't like Halloween at all. I see it as glorifying death and evil and as a Christian, it just doesn't seem right to me. So, I won't say Happy Halloween. I think I'm in the minority in this and if you think I'm wrong, I understand. Maybe when you get "old" you will have a different view too or maybe not. You will be the judge of that.
I do know that this weekend is another chance to share positive inspirational thoughts so let's get started linking. If you need information about how to do it, click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
I realize that in other parts of the world the seasons are not the same as they are here where I live. The weather here is finally getting cooler. Not cold - just cooler. We made a trip a few years ago to the New England area in October and totally enjoyed the beautiful foliage. God made such a beautiful world. People are doing a pretty good job of destroying a lot of it but it is still beautiful. I hope you are enjoying whatever is going on in your part of the world.
So, it's that time again. It's time to begin another week of sharing. If you need instructions on how to link, just click on Linking Info under the header picture. Everyone is welcome.
Yes, it actually is that time again — time to start linking. 😊 We continue to have people visit and "like" our Spiritual Sundays Facebook page. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to go there to check it out. If you never have, you might want to do that. The link is on the sidebar.
I'm pleased that so many continue to link here each week. If you are new to Spiritual Sundays and would like to share an inspirational post on your blog, you are more than welcome to do just that. You will find information on how to do it by clicking on Linking Info under the header picture.
I've mentioned before that Spiritual Sundays is not only reaching people in the United States but people in countries around the world. I just noticed that out of the last ten visits here, three were from countries other than the U.S. I'm glad this is happening. For all you people who visit this blog from other countries, thank you so much for being here. I'm glad Google can translate everything into so many different languages. It really is mind boggling to me.
It's time to begin another week of linking. Thank you to all who continue to share with us from week to week. You are a blessing to me and to so many others.
The bad news just keeps coming. Students shot at a college in Oregon. A hurricane headed for the east coast of America. All those poor refugees pouring out of the middle east, and all of the people there being killed. If I didn't believe that God is still in control and that someday all the wrongs will be made right, I think I would be in total despair. I'm grateful for all the good that is still in the world in spite of all the evil. I'm glad there are still people like you who share here who lift up those who are down. So let's get another week of linking started.
If you have not linked before and need information about how to do it, you can click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
Time marches on. Can September almost be gone? Yep. Looks that way. My favorite month of October is coming up in a few days. Why is October my favorite month? Maybe one reason is that it's my birthday month and also the birthday month of my daughter. Why does it seem like I should just be in my 50s instead of my daughter being that age? Oh well, that's just the way it is. If you're not there yet, you soon will be. Trust me. In eternity there will be no time as we know it now. Will we turn around about twice and realize a thousand years has passed? I wouldn't be surprised.
Now it's back to earth and time to link. Who will be first this week? Thank you for sharing.
Looks like people are getting back into the swing of things. We had more links last week than we've had in awhile. I went to my Silver Sneakers exercise class this morning and the large room was full. A lot of people leave our area in the summer to go to cooler places and they come back in the fall and spend the winter here. This is a great place to be in the winter. I don't really mind the summers either.
Time to link again, so if you need information about the linking process, you can click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
OK. It's that time again. Seven days really goes by fast. Actually a year goes by fast. In just a few days it will officially be Fall. We received a free CD in the mail today. Guess what it was? Christmas music. We played it in the car on our way to Arby's. Now I'm in the Christmas spirit. :)
It seems each week the situation in the world gets just a little worse. I'm glad we have the opportunity to share hope and inspiration here each week. If you want to participate and need instructions, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for information.
I want to thank everyone again for your participation and encouraging comments. I'm glad so many are being blessed each week by what others share here.
Can't believe it's already September. Now I'm ready for some cool weather. We've been having some monsoon storms lately. That's interesting, and it does cool things off for a little while but not long.
Time to start linking again. If you need information on how to do it, click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) '
This was the scripture that was on the bottom of the last post on this blog as I came here tonight wondering what I would say to begin this linky. It was one I needed to be reminded of. I so much appreciate Linky Tools for providing a scripture here each week. Actually they provide a different scripture each time anyone opens the blog. Have you noticed that? Each time you come back there is a different scripture.
If you have not shared before and would like to participate in that way, please click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
If you spend much time on Facebook you have probably seen the video of Kathie Lee Gifford's tribute to her late husband. If you have not seen it, you really should click HERE to go to my Charlotte's Weblogblog and watch it there. It is one of the most inspiring videos I've seen in a long time. It really points out the importance of faith in our lives. And not just any kind of faith. You can have faith in many things and many people. It is faith in Jesus Christ that makes all the difference.
As I was typing this (on Thursday night), the phone rang. I got up from the computer to answer it. It was a call to let us know that a man we had recently met at our gym passed away this morning. His son whom we had never met was the one who called. He wanted to let us know because we had been so kind to befriend and visit his dad and his mom. We had visited him because he had been ill for quite some time and unable to go to the gym. He was 92 years old, so his death was not really a surprise, but it reminded us again that this life will soon be over and it is eternity that should be on our minds.
I was just noticing that out of the last ten visits to this blog, three of them were from countries other than the United States. I think that is amazing. People from around the world are coming here, sharing and being inspired by reading what others have shared. Even if all of the visits had been from the United States, they are always from many different parts of the country. I feel so blessed in being able to host. Thank you for participating in such a wonderful way.
Now it's time to link again. Just click on Linking Info under the header picture if you need more information on how to do it.
This past week was a busy one at our house as we had relatives visiting from California. It's always a little lonely and sad when they leave. While they were here we discussed heaven and speculated about how it would be. I'm not sure we came to any conclusions except that it will be beyond our imaginations and will be wonderful. We talked about family members who are no longer with us here on earth. My thought now is, as the words of an old hymn says, "Won't it be wonderful there." As I look forward to seeing loved ones again, I look forward to meeting many people who I have never actually met here in this life, but have gotten to know through blogging and Facebook. I'm pretty sure there will be many who have shared with us here on Spiritual Sundays.
Thank you for coming here today. Thank you for sharing.
Starting on year #8. As I've said so many times before: "Where has the time gone?" I remember very well Ginger being at our house and suggesting to me that we ought to start a blog where people could share inspirational "stuff". How could that have been so many years ago? It seems like maybe last year or the year before. Time is marching on. We are all getting older and we are getting closer and closer to the day when God will decide that it's time for the prophecies to be fulfilled and for time as we know it to come to an end. In a way it's pretty scary, but in another way, it is very exciting. The thing is, we all need to be ready for that day to come. In the meantime, let's continue to share and encourage one another.
Everyone is welcome to participate. Just click on Linking Info under the header picture if you need instructions on how to link.
Thanks to all of you, we are celebrating seven years of sharing on Spiritual Sundays
I mentioned last week that the number 7 is rather special. That number is used in the Scriptures many times with special significance. Each week has seven days. God rested on the seventh day after creation. So now we are celebrating seven years of sharing here on this blog. Thank you for all the encouragement you have given me all these years. I'm glad I have been able to continue with it. Hopefully this time next year we will be celebrating #8.
If you are new to Spiritual Sundays and would like to join us in linking here, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
Thank you for all the kind comments and wishes on our anniversary. Now we're on our way to #58. We were married in 1958 and next year it will be 58 years. How about that.
I'm happy that so many continue to share on this blog. Another anniversary of the first linking here is coming up the first of August. Seven years. Isn't that a kind of special number? Seven? I think it is.
If you are new here and need more information about how to link, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions. Everyone is invited.
This weekend my husband and I are celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary. I'm so glad God created both male and female and instituted marriage. Certainly there have been ups and downs in our 57 years together, but I can honestly say that after all these years, our marriage is stronger than ever and we love each other now more than ever. I don't think that is an accident either. God has always been a partner for us and He has blessed us in so many ways.
Last week we had a few less links than usual. I think it was because people here in the U.S. were busy celebrating our Independence Day. Summer is in full swing now too and lots of people are vacationing and spending more time on family outings. I think that is a good thing. Thank you again to everyone who links with us here on Spiritual Sundays each week.
The year is a little more than half over now. I don't know why I'm surprised. I knew it would be that way. (Smile) This is a very special weekend for us here in America. Though some would seek to ban the American flag, most people are still patriotic. I don't know how long that will last because it seems like everything is just going "topsy turvy" these days. But for right now, it is still legal to fly our beloved flag. To all of you who live in this country, I wish you a safe and happy 4th of July.
I had thought about sharing some scripture in favor of marriage being between one man and one woman since that was all the topic of conversation for the past week. If I thought it would change any minds, I would do that. However, I realize that honest people differ with me on the subject. I do reject the idea though that there is no right or wrong but only what each individual decides what is right or wrong for them. I do believe there are absolutes.
Thank you for being faithful to share each week. Now it's time to start linking again.
Tomorrow is another day. Thank God. There is always hope that tomorrow will be better than today. Seriously though, I don't think very many things are going to get much better before the Lord comes back and makes things right. Satan has such a strong hold on this world right now. "Tomorrow is another day" came to my mind as I began writing this because of the controversy now over the movie Gone With the Wind which just happens to be my all time favorite movie. Now there are people who think it should be banned. It will surprise me if it doesn't happen. It's just crazy.
So, in spite of all the craziness going on in the world, we continue to encourage and inspire one another by linking here each week. Thank you for your encouragement.
What can I say? Another tragedy this week is all that is on the news today. It is so sad. It seems like every day it is either earthquakes, floods, fires, etc., or it is someone engaging in senseless violence. I was just thinking back about how news was shared back when I was growing up. There was always a newsreel at the movies, some news on the radio, and that was just about it. Now there is 24/7 news on TV, on the internet and seems like everyone is talking about everything that is going on both good and bad, but mostly bad. Would I want to go back to just the newsreels in movie theaters? No. But life was so much simpler then. As hard as it is to do, we need to keep our eyes on the good and keep praying that God will hurry up and set everything right. In the meantime, it is important that we keep encouraging one another and this is one place to do just that. Thank you to all who share with us here. You do make the days a little brighter.
I had intended to make this a special Father's Day post. We don't have many men who share here, but we do have some. To you guys who are dads, I want to wish you a happy day. To those whose fathers are no longer with us, I hope you have many good memories to look back on. Happy Father's Day, guys.
Last week we had 51 links. That is the most in a really long time. I am so pleased that so many are choosing to share with us here.
I thought perhaps there would be fewer linkups now that school is out and people are going on vacations, etc. I'm glad that is not the case. We need all the encouragement we can get these days. Thank you for providing that encouragement.
As I state each week, if you would like to share an inspirational post on your blog by linking it here, you will find instructions by clicking on Linking Info under the header picture.
Welcome everybody. Welcome June.
Can it be June already? This year will soon be half over. Seems like it just started. Life is flying by. We were shocked a few days ago when we learned a friend we have known for 25 years and who is younger than we are, died suddenly of a massive heart attack. She was so vibrant and alive and enjoyed life so much, and now her life here on earth is over. Makes one realize that it will soon be over for all of us. Sounds like I'm being morbid again. I'm really not. I know my friend is in a better place and I'm so thankful that our creator planned for a better life before any of us were even born. Thank you, God for sending Jesus to pay the price for all our sins. It is really mind boggling just to think about it.
In the meantime, while we are here on earth, we need to encourage one another and that is exactly what we do here by sharing each week. If you want to share, have never done so before, and need more information, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
Well, I was wrong about one thing. I guess that's not bad, just one thing, ha. Last week I said there would probably be fewer links because of the holiday weekend. Well, there were more links last week than there have been in months. I'm glad I was wrong. Now that school is out in most places and summer schedules are in play, I'm thinking there will probably be less linking this week. I hope I'm wrong again. Thank you for your faithfulness in supporting Spiritual Sundays.
So, let the linking begin. If you need instructions about how to do it, you will find them by clicking on Linking Info under the header picture.
The month of May is almost gone. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend here in America. I'm sure I've mentioned this in years past, but I'll mention it again. Memorial Day is special to me for many reasons, one of them being I was baptized on Memorial Day way back in 1948 at age 11. Of course Memorial Day is a patriotic day mainly to honor service people who have fought and died for our country. It is also a day to remember special people in our lives who are no longer with us. I hope everyone has a blessed Memorial Day weekend.
I have a feeling there will be fewer link ups this weekend because of the holiday. Thank you to those of you who will be participating. New people are discovering this blog on a regular basis. If you are new here and want to participate by linking a post on your blog, just click on Linking Info for information about how to do it.
LOVE IS HERE
— LOVE IS NOW. This was the theme at our church recently. The Worship Center will be closed for five months while it is being remodeled. On one Sunday the words LOVE IS HERE and LOVE IS NOW were painted in large letters on each side of the worship center. As we left that Sunday we were given a red marker pen to write our names on that wall in one of the large letters. Well, last Sunday we got there early (as we always do) so I decided I would take a picture of the words with my phone.
Then I took a close up of my name. It is written in the word "is". Do you see it there? When we come back into the Worship Center after the remodel these will be gone. Now I have pictures as reminders although I really don't have to be reminded that love is here and love is now.
So what does this have to do with this blog? I was just thinking that there is a lot of love manifested here each week. Love is here. Love is now.
Again I want to thank each one of you who took the time to comment here. Hard to believe we're already into May and this Sunday is Mother's Day. I also want to take this opportunity to wish each woman a Happy Mother's Day. I think I mentioned last year that our church had all the women stand on Mother's Day whether they had children or not. They thought all women should be honored. I like that, so even if you are not a mother, if you are a woman, I'm wishing you a Happy Mother's Day.
Be sure to check out the instructions by clicking on Linking Info under the header picture if you are new here and need information on linking. Everyone is welcome to share.
Welcome back to Spiritual Sundays. You continue to encourage me by the nice comments you make. I got an e-mail from one person who has shared with us almost from the beginning. She said she noticed that many of the people who used to share no longer do and there are a lot of new blogs participating. I was thinking about that observation and the first thing that came to my mind was that it is a lot like church. When we go back to a church we were with for many years there are just a few people that we recognize but we are so happy to see them again. There are always a few unless you stay away too long. But things can change so much in just 10 years or less. I think that is just the way life is. I'm thankful for all those who have shared in the past, those who still share and all the new people who have found us more recently. All of you bless my life.
Welcome to another weekend of sharing. Hard to believe we've been doing this for going on 7 years. So much inspiration has been shared by so many in this length of time. I had no idea when Ginger and I started this blog back in 2008 that it would be so successful. Of course without all of you who share it would have failed long ago. Thank you for your continuing faithfulness. If you are new to Spiritual Sundays, would like to participate and are not sure how to do it, just click on Linking Info under the header picture for instructions.
This post is not the kind of thing I usually do, but I received this little story in an e-mail from an old friend this week and wanted to share it.
At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.
As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize they vacated their seats.
This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.
The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.
I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life. Reap success and give lots of love. More importantly, thank God for the journey.
Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train.
And so I thank each one of you who shares with us here each week. I'm glad you're on our train. Now it's time to link again.
Welcome back to Spiritual Sundays.
Hard to believe Easter 2015 is history. The preacher at the church I attended as a teenager always referred to things that were past as "history". Funny the things we remember. This was over 60 years ago. I've always loved Easter. I have many happy memories of Easters past. The one that has just become "history" was a good one. I hope it was for all of you.
Now it's time to start linking again. If you need help with knowing how to link, just click on Linking Info under the header picture. I'm sure most of you are very familiar with the procedure as you have done it many times. Thank you for being so faithful in sharing.
Welcome to Spiritual Sundays. This blog was created with you in mind. Some of you come here to share by linking a post on your blog. Some come here to read what others have shared. Everyone is welcome and I hope you will all be blessed in whatever way you participate.
