You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. ~Nehemiah 9:6

Welcome Friends

I got new glasses this afternoon and I'm not sure whether my eyes just need to adjust to them better or if they are just "off".  I think they are really pretty, but the main function of glasses is to see better, not just "look" better. As I was thinking about how well I can, or can't see, it reminded me of how people see the same thing so differently in every area of life. We can even read the Bible and not all "see" it alike. And politics? Wow, people certainly do not see everything alike when it comes to politics. I remember hearing as I was growing up that there were two things people shouldn't discuss - religion and politics. Now why did I bring that up? I'm sure that will bring out emotions from just about everybody. So, try to forget I brought it up. (smile). Let's just share inspiration, not controversy.

  1. I feel for you with the glasses. Sometimes new ones take some getting used to - especially if they are bi-focals. Religion and politics are the two things we should talk about most. Perhaps in person is better than on blogs like yours. We might not all agree on those two subjects. But we all agree we love you and visiting with you each week. Thank you for all you do, sweet friend.

    1. That is so sweet, Gail. Thank you. I agree with you on religion and politics. They are both extremely important.

  2. Dear Charlotte, your eyes are important, perhaps a return visit to the eye doctor bringing your glasses and recheck the prescription to make sure it is correct. Just saying!

    1. Thank you for your concern, Hazel. I went back where I got the glasses and they assured me that sometimes it takes up to 2 weeks for eyes to adjust to a new prescription. It has been 3 days now. They actually have adjusted a lot. It's amazing. Still not quite there, but I'm hopeful.

  3. I have an eye doc appt tomorrow. I've been putting it off for months for just this reason. But I've reached the point where I'm ready to deal with the adjustment :) Hoping yours continues to get better FAST. Have a blessed and beautiful Thanksgiving!!!

  4. Charlotte, thank you again for being such a faithful host to this link-up community!

I've had that experience of trying to adjust to new glasses. It's not fun or easy. I usually get headaches! As I reading your thoughts, I also thought about how I need to focus on the Lord. When I don't fix my spiritual eyes on Him, I end up with a very blurry vision of things. I get short-sighted and myopically think only about my SELF.

May He continue to readjust my view!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

    GOD BLESS!
