Welcome back everybody. I promised this week I would tell you how a blogger in Belgium had something to do with our decision to start this blog. When I started blogging almost 6 years ago, one of the blogs I visited quite regularly was written by a lady named Gattina. And she visited my blog too. One time she mentioned that many people in America share something about their church on their blog. She was somewhat amazed because she said almost no one in Belgium goes to church anymore. I commented back that I thought that was sad. She told me not to feel sorry for them. They liked it that way. They were plenty happy not to go to church.
One day when my niece Ginger was at our house we got to talking about people like that and Ginger suggested we start a blog where people could link spiritual posts and that would be good for people like Gattina who didn't have a church. I thought it was a good idea so we started working on it. Many many people have linked here since we started it over 5 years ago but I don't think Gattina even visited it once. If she did I didn't know about it. I think that is sad, but you can't force people to be interested. I just thought it was pretty interesting that she played a part in our decision. Even if she never had the blessing of reading what others share here, there are many who have benefited through the years. I still think it is and was a good thing. I still think it is sad that most people in Belgium including Gattina, don't go to church.
