I looked down along the walkway leading up to the chapel and noticed that there were a lot of coins that people had thrown there. I thought that was interesting. If you look closely you can see them in the picture below.
This introduction is longer than usual but I wanted to share this with you. If you've never been to Sedona, AZ and you get a chance to go, don't miss it. I wish everyone of you could have been there. There is so much beauty in God's creation, and I think He must have smiled as he poured out all the red rock in that area. Our God is an awesome God.

Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in your virtue knowledge; and in your knowledge self- control; and in your self-control patience; and in your patience godliness; and in your godliness brotherly kindness; and in your brotherly kindness love - 1 Peter 1:5-7 (ASV)
We visited Red Rocks a few years ago and even had the chance to go horseback riding there. It was so beautiful, I love to visit other parts of the country...such diverse landscapes to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday; I drove through Sedona on the way to the Grand Canyon; it is beautiful there; great place to spend your birthday! I like that cross!
ReplyDeleteI hope today is a good one!

Sedona is such a special place. I love the Chapel. I can't think of a better way to spend your birthday! Thank you for sharing it with all of us. Have a blessed Spiritual Sunday, Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to be able to visit such an interesting and beautiful place on your birthday! I'm so glad you had a great time! As you wrote about "red rocks" I was reminded of something the men in a church we used to go to did. Well, actually the women did it too, but it started with the men. They kept a red stone in their pocket...(you know, sort of like a flattened glass marble, the kind you use in flower decorations), to remind them of the sacrifice that Christ made on the cross for each of us. A single stone...a drop of blood shed for us. It was a powerful reminder to each of us and great gift to give to someone when we shared our faith.
ReplyDeleteBlessings Charlotte -- and happy birthday!
Happy Birthday, Charlotte! Those red rocks remind me of the rocks we have here on the Island. Our soil and rock both are red. Yes, God is an awesome God! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
You know, Charlotte, I've been to Sedona several times but I have never visited the chapel. I'll have to do that next time. I LOVE your cross. I'm such a rockhound - that undoubtedly would have been my "souvenir" purchase too! And yes, it looks beautiful in front of the rose quartz.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord lives - and even if He wasn't acknowledged by any person, the very stones would cry out!!
GOD BLESS!
Would love to visit there one day. It looks and sounds wonderful. G-d's creation is amazing.
ReplyDeleteShalom,
Gail
Very beautiful. I would love to visit. Happy belated birthday, sounds like it was perfect in every way.
ReplyDeleteOk...that's on my list now of places to visit. Happy belated B-day Charlotte. Glad you got to spend it in such a fun perfect way. And happy thanksgiving to you, Cliff and your family.......
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Charlotte! God is such an awesome Creator, Designer and Artist, and I love admiring His work! It's amazing to think that not only did He create such beautiful sites as the one you experienced, bu He even takes the time to design every sunset and every snowflake, although their beauty may be missed by many.
ReplyDeleteLove in Christ,
Laurie
Happy birthday Charlotte! I'm so glad you enjoyed your little get-a-way up north!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI showed your post to my husband. We are making a trip out west soon, and it may be possible that we visit Sedona!
Happy Birthday! I'm so glad you got to go to Sedona again. I have been there many times as I don't live that far from there. It's a beautiful area and the chapel is a so gorgeous, too. I'm so glad you got a little something to remember your time there. It's a beautiful cross.

I love Sedona! We were there in the spring so the weather was beautiful. I wish I would have known about the chapel. My husband would have loved it. Your cross is beautiful nestled in the quartz.
ReplyDeleteI hope your Sabbath is full of rest and worship.

Pamela

ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Happy Birthday Charlotte! And thank you so much for sharing your sweet memories along with these lovely pictures. I loved what Sharon commented, as well - what a great reminder of the Scripture that "even the stones will cry out!" This is certainly proof of that. Have a blessed week and thank you again!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Charlotte, I think the cross you bought is beautiful. This little trip was a wonderful way to celebrate your Birthday. The coins must have meaning. The red rock is amazing.
