Happy Fall

I know a lot of you are happy that fall is here because many have said so in their posts. It is already getting much cooler in some parts of the country and you're thinking winter is just around the corner. In fact, snow has already fallen in some areas. Here where we live it is just now getting comfortably cooler. And I love it. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Personally I'm not a fan of Halloween but it is coming up in a few days. After that Thanksgiving will be just around the corner, and I am a fan of Thanksgiving. I know that not everyone who shares with us on this blog lives in the U.S. and your holidays are not the same as ours. I am so pleased that even people in other parts of the world can communicate and share with us. There are many things that are not so good about the world wide web, but there is also much good and I am thankful for that. I'm thankful for each person who discovers Spiritual Sundays and chooses to share with us. As I've said before, everybody is welcome. If you have not shared by linking here before, and you would like to be included, you can find out how to do it by clicking Linking Info under the header picture.

  1. You are right...there are things about the internet that aren't great. But, the more we go on it and praise God's name, the better! I've noticed when I look at my traffic sources, I discover that sometimes people find my blogs "by accident". I see that the referring web sites are less than, um, appropriate. And you know what? That encourages me! Not the bad web sites of course...but, that God can orchestrate it so someone walking a dark trail can "accidentally" stumble upon His word! My prayer that those folks are also encouraged and turn to God in their suffering. He is the only One who can fill the emptiness that they are searching to fill.

Thank you again for hosting Spiritual Sundays! It is a wonderful ministry...to more people than we are even aware of!

    Blessings!

  4. I do agree that we need to be careful about the Internet but we can also use the Internet and find so many wonderful friends through it and blogs. I always tell people to be careful what they share on blogs as far as personal stuff, not knowing who is reading our words. At the same time, not knowing who is reading our words, I'm glad we are all doing our part getting God's words out to people who might "stumble" upon them and maybe want to check out God themselves through his Word or going to church!

  7. In a tropical country like ours, it gets a little cooler during these months especially at night, but we won't be expecting even a single drop of snow, but it would be great if we do experience it a little :).

I like the Internet in a way that it connects people around the world. For 2 days last week, we had been Skyping with my sister in San Diego, CA, and how wonderful is that? Also, I really love this blogging thing - thank God for it!

    Have a blessed weekend everyone,
    Rina

  10. Hi Charlotte,

Yes it is fall here. I live in the northeast. But a very unusual thing has happened today. It is snowing here like crazy! The leaves haven't even fallen off all the trees yet. Many of the leaves haven't even turned their beautiful colors. I captured the beauty of the colorful leaves covered with snow on my blog Lights Camera Action. Take a peek when you have a moment.

    Blessings,
    Judy

  11. Good morning, Charlotte and all. I love thinking of all of you in this quiet and special part of my day.

We are experiencing our first freezing temperatures of the year. We covered all of our blooming mums last night in hopes of preventing bloom loss. Daylight is just beginning to break, and I am watching the sky turn a pale pink.

I pray you all have a blessed week.

  12. I am not a fan of Halloween, per se. But with grandkids who love it, I have fun with them celebrating it, with a focus on the fun harvest side AND with a focus on sharing the awesome Word of God with each child that comes to my house. Some years I use cute tracts that combine riddles with the gospel. Other years, I've made my own coloring pages combining cute country clipart with encouraging and comforting Bible verses (I have a couple on SandwichINK - last Friday and coming up this Monday). Another favorite tool are the cute and colorful pass-it-ons with inspirational Bible verses. I pray that each of these "seeds" will bear fruit someday and I look forward to getting to heaven to see what God did with them. :) It definitely makes Halloween a special time for me and my Sandwich Generation family.

  13. Hi CHarlotte! You are an amazing lady! Thanks for sharing. My kids celebrated Halloween when they were small. We hand out candy today but I love Thanksgiving and I think it gets too little attention. Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend!

  14. Dear Charlotte, I'm not a fan of Halloween either -- if you check out my blog post this week, you'll see why, and also some alternative suggestions! And I also agree with you that this time of year (like any other!) is a great time to remind ourselves to put on the whole armor of God, as I wrote about recently:

May God bless you and your ministry!

  15. It is always the season to be thankful. The web has much both good and evil, but let us delight in the good and that we can have blessed fellowship one with another on it. Thank you for hosting this blog site.
